cokacola Posted July 8, 2008 Report Posted July 8, 2008 Hi Guys Just thought I'd post a little message, basketting for my first race is this Friday - I'm very excited! Although hve just found out about all the fees I have to pay every week with the fed, clock fees, bird fees but I'm sure I can beg, borrow and steal to cover them. The race is Hullavington which is about 40 miles from me. My birds are doing 9 miles in about 25 minutes training, does this seem slow? I am not too concerned about not winning, but I am worried I'm going to be way behind everyone else. Still, I am a beginner. Many Thanks to Mac1 and Bewted for the young birds they have supplied me with generously - all are doing well! Tariq.
Guest spin cycle Posted July 8, 2008 Report Posted July 8, 2008 welldone so far and good luck on saturday. enjoy watching them come home at this stage.....the winning will come along soon enough.....my racepoint is only 42 so perhaps we can compare velocities(ok)
bewted Posted July 8, 2008 Report Posted July 8, 2008 dont worry if your way behind tariq,,,,just enjoy them coming home and remember what i told you,,,,there is still next year to go yet !!! give yourself 2 to 3 years to start really shining,,,anything else just now is a bonus for you !!!! good luck for friday and and i await your results here !!
pjc Posted July 8, 2008 Report Posted July 8, 2008 is 9miles the furthest you've sent them? Have they had enough training? Phil
cokacola Posted July 8, 2008 Author Report Posted July 8, 2008 Thanks Guys Phil - Nope, they've been further than 9 miles and will be going even further again over the next few days.
pjc Posted July 8, 2008 Report Posted July 8, 2008 good luck with them, but make sure they have had enough training and if they are not ready then leave them at home, don't throw them away for the sake of sending to your first race! Patience is the name of the game. Phil

cokacola Posted July 9, 2008 Author Report Posted July 9, 2008 Hi Ted, I'v run out of batteries for the camera at the minute, as soon as I get enough money to buy some more, I'l upload photos! Tariq.
