Guest Owen Posted January 15, 2009 Report Posted January 15, 2009 Some years ago I had terrible problems with cats. It ended up with major rows. I tried a couple of differant electronic deterants with middling success. Then it dawned on me. I had an electic fence unit in the shed from when I had kept sheep some years before. So rigged it up to try it. Fantastic. That was about eight years ago. Since then that unit went wrong and I replaced it with a new one. The new one is powered from the mains so I never have to think about charging 12 volt batteries. It is on all the time and never a cat, fox or dog in sight. The only exception is when the Grandchildren are here. I have to be careful then so I turn it off. If you send for the catalogues you will see that there are a wide variety of models available. Some of them are quite cheap. I would avoid the small torch battery type and go for something a bit better. Even better if you can get one second hand.
THE FIFER Posted January 15, 2009 Report Posted January 15, 2009 http://gardens.taylorschoice.co.uk/products/132296s_jet_spray_animal_repeller_-_stv.php something like this then. We use to have it on display in our main entrance (in a box obviously so everyone didnt get wet!) seemed quite powerful and the sensors worked well. Only reason we dont have it there any more is because it was always going off when people walked past! yes i always set mine at night, could always see if a cat had got a soaking, but they are goos
