Holiday Feeding

I am off for a short break from tomorrow early AM to late Thursday PM.  How much food should I leave down for my 2 pairs.  They have a 5ltr drinker of water so that should be ok, not sure on the amount of food though.

I personnaly would feed them before you go, maybe a little more than normal. As long as you leave enough clean water to last them they will be fine.

FILL THE HOPPER OR TROUGH AND MAKE SURE THEY CANT S**t IN TH THE FOOD. THEY WILL EAT WHAT THEY WANT AND YOU CAN BIN THE LEFTOVERS WHEN YOUR BACK.

feed well before going but never leave food down it encourages vermin can you not get somebody just to look in and see to them that's what I used to do

if you have a spare drinker, fill it with food, they will eat what they want and it keeps the food kleen.

Just leave plenty of fresh clean water, if they are fit and healthy they will be fine for 2-3 days

totally agree with the hopper they binge on it then keep the selves wright the rest of the time sure they be ok.

GET A BAG OF BARLEY AND FILL A HOPPER OR EMPTY DRINKER WITH IT, THEY WILL ONLY EAT WHAT THEY NEED BECAUSE THEY DONT ENJOY IT THAT MUCH   ;)

this is very true,, maybe get someone to put down a handfull or two, just  enough to get a pick,, its not the pigeons that cause vermin as most folks think,,its the grain [if left lying]

Hi all,

All seems well on my return.  I put down a little extra food for them when I left which they had eaten all of on my return and they didnt seem any hungrier than usual.
