hi dave

i was just trying to test the water as to what they might be up against in future time and what they would do in certain circumstances !!! the idea is a good one for stray centres, but,if fanciers are not too bothered about the strays or there own birds,,,,,how can it be carried forward for all to use, but, only the few to organise and help ?? i hope i put that right ?

they would still be govened by rules but with fancirs pulling strings

that was on my mind also  feeding a donation perhaps from the owners of the birds for the feed bill we could try and find   local farm(s) to drive down the cost a little but if we can raise enough through funding corn could maybe be bought in bulk and sent to each stray loft

a donation from the owners would not work in most cases [thats what straycatchers do]funding should be through the rpra and other unions after all its their job thats been done, and a time limit on holding the birds, if the owner does not contact you within a set time the bird goes to the main stray loft at the rpra, otherwise you will be stuck with strays forever, also who notifiys the owner? you or the rpra?

a see what you mean about stray catchers but there out to make money we are out to help the pigeon community and a standard charge could be set nothing much just a little to help i havent had many strays but one i had from yorkshire, the guy collected it and the  first think he asked me was how much do i owe you i was shocked at that so i think if these are helping the majority a small donation would be accepted just my opinion i think we as the stray centre could contact the owner and after say a week if nothings done should then be taken to the rpra thats a good idea
