following on from teds attempts for stray centers we are now without amtrak so lets try again.

lets see how many counties we can cover just from the members on pb to try and get a small stray loft in each, Why not at the beggining of the year try and have a fund raiser  to help buy a loft for as many counties as we can. Just an idea dont all slate me.

i dont see why this cant be done ted who were the 12 interested parties last time surely if we had a fund that could get 12 stray lofts up and running thats a step in the right direction i never put my name forward as im a novice but can see this becoming worse and worse if this year is anything to go buy so there now 13 that could be started

Damian, i don't want to go off topic here particularly as things are going well, but my name is Dave, and i have no idea who the 12 interested parties last time are that you are referencing mate! Think that you may have been talking with someone else as regards to this part! But, whatever i can help you with please dont hesitate!  :)

valid point im sure if some one decides to quit for what ever reason the loft can be re located as the loft is not theres if the fund has bought it, if these work well i think we could get more involved as i keep hearing in the pigeon world some dont like change but if this does take off they may have a different mind set and perhaps relocating would be easier

this is getting interesting now,how do we/you/them get on about feeding them, food costs a packet now and if you have a stray loft with say 10/15 birds in it, thats a lot of money going down for birds that you might have stuck on your hands for a while, i am not trying to shoot this down its a great idea thats needs following up with some details,

Hi Ted,

the loft would obviously be moveable, and sell-able. If you read the idea for the SOS fund on Damians Top 5 post, it may help you see where the ideas are coming from!

that was on my mind also  feeding a donation perhaps from the owners of the birds for the feed bill we could try and find   local farm(s) to drive down the cost a little but if we can raise enough through funding corn could maybe be bought in bulk and sent to each stray loft

hi dave

i was just trying to test the water as to what they might be up against in future time and what they would do in certain circumstances !!! the idea is a good one for stray centres, but,if fanciers are not too bothered about the strays or there own birds,,,,,how can it be carried forward for all to use, but, only the few to organise and help ?? i hope i put that right ?

we could put minimum garge of 2 quid we dont need lofts garden sheds are cheaper and if in bulk cheaper still

agree a 6x4 shed or similar would be ideal
