Guest KING BILLY Posted April 3, 2009 Report Posted April 3, 2009 if they are not flying round the loft for at lest 1 hour and not bean trained at least 3 or 4 times then your only adding to the trouble of how many birds are lost at the first 4 races you really need to give them the best start you can this is a big problem with the pigeons at the early start of the season
mark proctor Posted April 3, 2009 Report Posted April 3, 2009 if they are not flying round the loft for at lest 1 hour and not bean trained at least 3 or 4 times then your only adding to the trouble of how many birds are lost at the first 4 races you really need to give them the best start you can this is a big problem with the pigeons at the early start of the season spot on there m8...i no alot of fanciers who use the club race and the first race as a training chuck,,but take a right hammering if the winds a hard one......
Guest Posted April 3, 2009 Report Posted April 3, 2009 Don't think i ever had a widow cock fly an hour continuous. A lot of the top guys tell you they don't train either, thats why i was sat on Illsley downs one day with a guy who worked for one of the top MNFC lofts liberating their cocks in May (about 100 miles i'd say). As the guy not a fancier would tell me he did it twice a week for him. Strange on their video they said they don't train either, both father and son
Guest KING BILLY Posted April 3, 2009 Report Posted April 3, 2009 in any sport you have to be at the top of your form to win there are many roads to room i have not met a top widow man yet who tells the truth except Andy Miller,ha ha, and have the same system or feeding if it was that way you would only have to add water to the so called champions of the sky and the so called supper breeds which we all no are have the special name just to sell for instance take a top loft in the country give them a name and they will sell cheers
blaz Posted April 3, 2009 Report Posted April 3, 2009 we dont train today as with a light east wind has blown the fog in from the sea visibility is down to a mile , hope it clears up soon
Wiley Posted April 3, 2009 Report Posted April 3, 2009 In My opinion, when my widowhood cocks have flown for an hour consistently around the loft, the pigeons have always een crap racing, however when my widowers fly for 10mins land, then after 60 seconds clap of again, and are like fireworks for these 10-15 minute marks land then off again thats when in my opinion widowers are right, they must however explode with vigour none of this gliding around, they must e all over the sky and plenty of space etween them. However widowhood hens in form are a different thing, will fly non stop for hours, and the closer the knit of pigeons in the sky the etter. However like mick says in my opinion i dont like to see widowhood cocks fly for an hour consistently this is when i know there no where near right
Guest KING BILLY Posted April 3, 2009 Report Posted April 3, 2009 its funny no one trains widowhood cocks but when you see there cars go by up the road without a driver and just a pair of hands on the stering wheel this was not amied at widowhood it was just an obversation in general to get pigeons fit for the first races
Guest strapper Posted April 3, 2009 Report Posted April 3, 2009 i fly natural and the birds are coming back and then the cocks flapping off the roof after the hens . they have been treated for resp and been given a b12 vit in the last week. i feed a cheap high protein farm mix with maize and with extra farm beans maris and the large ones, nothing is left with the race birds.
