pigeonman007 Posted January 9, 2009 Report Posted January 9, 2009 One of my cocks has a hen on eggs and has taken a liking to a hen in the next section. Both compatable, would it be ok to run a cock over 2 hens or to much of a struggle on the birds?
Leroy Posted January 9, 2009 Report Posted January 9, 2009 for the first time ever i have just had this happen with my 3 white stock birds, one pair and a spare hen. all 3 were looking very settled and each hen selected their own corner so i put 2 nest bowls in. both hens laid at roughly the same time, but the hen of the pair wasnt getting as much attention and stopped sitting after about 14 days. the cock didnt do his fair share of sitting so presumably that was why the hen gave up. the others have reared two young.
jonjon Posted January 9, 2009 Report Posted January 9, 2009 yes u can do it but i would have an few feeders on stand by so u can float the eggs
