buying youngsters in

what do you look for in youngsters when buying them in,i dont mean performances of the owner but on about the youngsters themselves.

i get offered youngsters each year to try out and find not all that feels and looks good are the ones that make the grade so to speak.

i think so many fanciers look for a vogue model to buy and over look the lesser looking youngsters.

I think you need to look for healthy youngsters bred close to the tree. As you say sometimes its the ugly duckling that comes good!

usksider the property of don jones.s usk was the uglist bird you ever seen langky horrible but what that bird won and bred was fantastic i had son and daughter both won saints for don sadly he died couple years ago the bird not don ;D ;D

i know one fancier said that he didnt start winning till he had birds from don.
