mic Posted May 27, 2009 Report Posted May 27, 2009 3 confirmed cases of pmv or y/b sickness in gateshead fed, maff culled said birds, now paying attention to where these birds came from, same one large pigeon stud, does this fed get stopped from flying, or because theve had the chop, racing still applies, any thoughts, cheers
pjc Posted May 27, 2009 Report Posted May 27, 2009 Only DEFRA can stop racing in the fed but i'm glad the certain stud is now being investigated as these are not isolated cases!
Guest numpty01 Posted May 27, 2009 Report Posted May 27, 2009 i presume if it was young bird raceing then its confirmed i would think deffra would stop the fed as the birds would have been on transporter yes pjc now they wont be able to deny its there
pjc Posted May 27, 2009 Report Posted May 27, 2009 but if they diagnose YBS then they won't do anything and put it down to stress during transport, if its PMV they will shut em down!

Guest strapper Posted May 27, 2009 Report Posted May 27, 2009 i cant understand when vaccine is so cheap!!! there are the chosen few that wont vaccinate because they blame pmv vaccine for many illnesses the birds have today and not yesteryear.
mic Posted May 27, 2009 Author Report Posted May 27, 2009 these y/birds were holding water, weeks before, there was a thread about this,y/birds dying, Is it not the antibiotics coming back to bite people on the *expletive removed*,too much usage no imune, more diseases, more money
Guest Posted May 27, 2009 Report Posted May 27, 2009 there are the chosen few that wont vaccinate because they blame pmv vaccine for many illnesses the birds have today and not yesteryear. id take my chances with the vaccine rather than the pmv going through my loft
pjc Posted May 27, 2009 Report Posted May 27, 2009 some only vaccinate the race team, some vaccinate all and some none at all so how does anybody expect it to ever go. Also i beleive there is a mutated version imune to the current vaccine!
Guest Posted May 27, 2009 Report Posted May 27, 2009 well any1 that i know that vaccinates all birds every year never have a problem
pjc Posted May 27, 2009 Report Posted May 27, 2009 as a recent poll showed less than you think vaccinateall birds!
