I was intending to race my youngbirds natural, just to their perch. Is this a successful method?

i've always raced yb's like this and have done reasonably well, although when they start moulting bad it's harder to compete with the darky's.(it's is for me, but i don't push em hard to win as yb's)

Thank you :)

This is my first year of racing and want to keep things as simple as possible, hope I do the birds justice lol

I'll be happy just getting some back from races in reasonable time, not overly worried about the winning

when you say natural , do you mean as opposed , to widowhood , seperated , untill just before basketing for a race

you can still have them natural after being on the darkness system, ie paired up

yes, this can be successfull if well trained /managed , but the problem being judging  the ones to race and the ones to hold back as they are moulting, in my opinion any begginner needs to start stopping a few each week to ensure an ob team the following year,, theres only a few yb races , but a good few ob races over a period of,1, 2 3  4,,5,6, even 7 years old depending on the races you intend trying for :)
