fred smyth Posted July 5, 2009 Report Posted July 5, 2009 hi has any one got any good pics of est traps, going to built one but need some ideas , thanks
Guest ben Posted July 5, 2009 Report Posted July 5, 2009 hi Fred,They trap you have at present should do the job, just modify what you have by making sure tou have a 30-40mm gap directly under it to allow for apair of runners on a piece of ply,so you can slide the ply out from under the trap racedays, thereby clocking your birds as they hit your dropboard, instead of going in.

THIS IS ILLEGAL. YOU CLOCK/TIME THE BIRDS AFTER THEY ENTER THE LOFT NOT WHILE ITS STILL OUT AND FREE TO COME AND GO.
Guest ben Posted July 5, 2009 Report Posted July 5, 2009 Sorry Brian,re-read the RPRA rules again nothing illegal with runners mate.
Guest shadow Posted July 5, 2009 Report Posted July 5, 2009 Sorry Brian,re-read the RPRA rules again nothing illegal with runners mate. pads must be in the confines of the loft, under a sputnick you may get away with as the birds can not take off again
Guest ben Posted July 5, 2009 Report Posted July 5, 2009 We have read and re-read the rules(very badly thought out by some moroon )and i am quite sure this would win in a court of law.for sure
Guest briancol Posted July 5, 2009 Report Posted July 5, 2009 runners or no runners the bird must be inside the loft,(not able to take off again)a bird on the drop/landing board has not trapped yet & if it had a 'rubber' ring on then u wouldnt b able to time it in untill it came in and you got ur hands on it to remove the ring.
fred smyth Posted July 5, 2009 Author Report Posted July 5, 2009 dident meen to start an argument , just wanted to see some photos of traps ,,, but i do agree the bird must be traped in side the loft and not able to fly off at time of hitting the est board
