Europa ( Derek Nicholls) sent 24. He advised me that he had just timed the 7th arrival (Which I had 50% share in) . That call was about 8 o'clock ish so perhaps a few more since?  I would ring him back to get an update but he was as drunk as a lord 2 hrs a go and no doubt been topping up since! Well done to the winning pigeon " OSCAR!" and all involved.  Pity there wasnt A website to view times on eh?  .......Tom CAN YOU HELP?  LOL

why shouldnt it be allowed chris?
well i cant be any difrent on my view as to rpra one loft they are seperate to the feds never mind they may have joined whu or paid club fees its one loft race ??it seems to me that the one loft system will now be used to ruin club fed and nat raceing going back to my comments on rpra loft if they had 2000 birds entered  they are more likely to win as there wont be quarter of those birds in normally are all the yearlings reg with whu have all fees ben paid inclueing transporter fee of 50quid and will all this years youngsters be flying for honers

Have to agree one loft racing is another nail in the coffin of traditional racing because ordinary fanciers cannot afford to compete and they generate publicity, what's the BHW going to run as a headline, winner of a fed of 1000 birds or winner of a one loft race of 500 birds? I't going to go with the commercial enterprise which will generate money for it.

By the way congrats to Derek Nicholls, I know I critisced very strongly last year's YB race but I have no personal axe to grind and I'm sure Derek must be very proud, as must the breeder it's a good pigeon to win on the north road 500  miles especially with a small convoy.

Chris your a great bloke but you dont half talk some sh** sometimes..LOL   below is a quote from the EUROPA website from February and has been mentioned almost weekly since!

Much interest has been generated over the winter in the new Europa 500 old bird race in particular from people who have never flown in a one-loft race before. They have nearly all said the same thing, that being that they are not really interested in a young bird race that brings the birds racing career to an end almost before it has started. But a race where as yearlings they can race 3 National races flying with and competing to win the Welsh Grand National from 280 miles, 340 miles and 500 miles and then go on to fly those races again as a 2yo, 3yo, 4yo etc would offer a whole new level of racing entertainment!!!!!!

This is what we offer in the new Europa 500 with full details on the website www.europaclassic.co.uk. The first race will be this year 2009 with only 100 birds in it, but as always we have to start somewhere and I am looking forward to getting these birds paired up in March (see photos of birds in the new nest box sections). We will then be getting these birds ready to fly the 3 Nationals for their owners with the main race from Thurso in July, which of course sees me in competitive racing again for the first time in almost a decade, I cant wait!!!
