moulting

what age do YB's moult? does it follow a pattern?) now looks bald under wings (arm pit if human) my bald face bird just looks a bit under the weather and now 2 others are showing the same face. coiuld it be anything else? :-/

YBs throw Primary 1 (in the middle of the open wing) a couple of weeks after leaving the nest.  When that is around threequarters grown Primary 2 is dropped, and so on till No10. Secondaries are moulted in similar fashion, 1-10. Around P4/5 the full body moult starts, basically they moult everything, the head, neck, wing shields, tail etc - they can look quite bare & ragged, and they are not weatherproof at this time.
