Guest Owen Posted October 3, 2009 Report Posted October 3, 2009 Does anyone have any information about the ability of the Lambrecht pigeons? What distance will they go to? Do they win races here in Britain? What do they look like?
Guest ROCKYandRAMBO Posted October 3, 2009 Report Posted October 3, 2009 think they win well up to 300 miles in any wind . what do you mean what do they look like lol !!!
Guest mike hitchin Posted October 3, 2009 Report Posted October 3, 2009 i had 3 lambrechts in my young bird team this year none of them won but they were the most consistent pigeons in the loft. so theyll be here to try on widowhood as yearlings. the ones i have are very big across the shoulders and massive wings
Guest Owen Posted October 3, 2009 Report Posted October 3, 2009 I asked what they look like because most pigeons from a certain source have predominant characteristics. The birds I have now are medium to large and the dominant colour is a light blue. There are no pieds and no reds. My best widowhood cocks are blue cheq and blue. Mike Hitchin, thanks for the info. It is exactly what I was looking for.
chichichi Posted October 3, 2009 Report Posted October 3, 2009 the de meyers are full of lambrects,, they all swapped birds over there,, jan hugbrets,, lambrect and de meyer,, them strains are in each of the lofts.. kevin head had a load of de meyers for sale next sunday the 9th,, full of lambrects... we have the de meyers here and lambrects in every one of them,, the midlands feds have been won many times by the lambrect strain,, we have had 4 young to race this year into wales and they have done very well.. ant
mickf Posted October 3, 2009 Report Posted October 3, 2009 Dont you mean gert heylen, not jan huybrecht he's dutch.
Guest Owen Posted October 3, 2009 Report Posted October 3, 2009 Thanks Ant, I know that the Continentals are into swapping and crossing in a big way. It makes you think when we hear the Brits claiming that they own pure strains of pigeons. I have a total of 7 to breed with next year. I am hoping that they could give me a bit more speed if they are mated with my own. The one thing I have noticed about them, to date, is their energy. I have never owned pigeons that exercise like these. They are penned with 8 of mine, all the same age. The Lambrechts will fly much longer than mine. And they also gain more hieght, which is a worry because of the peregrins around here. But they will fly for hours. So much so that I will not let them out in the mornings because I never know when they will appear. mike hitchen said that he thinks his have wider shoulders and bigger wings. I know what he means. Mine seem to be of a very powerful build. They will definately be put to the test next year, so we'll see just how good they are then.
