Second year running for Preece Bros & Son :)

thoroughly deserved too gail...they are a top top family of pigeon fanciers ..their name should be  very well known in the uk not just in wales.

after winning around 8-9 nationals ?against top fanciers as they have ,you can clearly see they are amongst the cream in uk racing :)

what makes the preece bros wins so good are the very top quality of national winners they fly against in their club..nevermind their fed and nationals...cwmtillery has to be in the top 3 clubs in wales.

i think im right in saying that..they won two nationals last year??

also iddie davies...can never count iddie out from putting a bird in the top 5 of the fed most weeks.

fed champion and also multi national winner.

when i topped the fed he put 4 in behind me plus some more down the pecking order..brill flyer.

one thing about these two fanciers..they are still doing it many years down the line. :)

Hi Neil,

What do you think??

What has happened to all the Welsh Combine winners this year??  It will be interesting to see the performances of the Taffy Bowen trophy winner as our double combine winner was in for that as well.  With birdage from Lillers approx 5,500 and Brussels just under 3,000..

I would have thought that Gav's Bonn winner was worthy of at least one of the trophy's as well, if he entered it??

Very strange, I wonder who judged it this year?

I suggest u both read the union rulebook!!

It clearly states any pigeon flown under WHPU rules, combine races are flown under WHPU rules!!!

Can the Fed and National be flown under WHPU rules and then the combine under a different set of rules for the same race??  I think NOT, talk some sense.

but the combine resigned from the whpu so results achieved within that organisation aint eligable for whpu awards the national position is yes and ur relevant federation but no positions of the combine

and you did state in your post rob your double combine winner

You can only go with the rulebook and it clearly states any pigeon flown under WHPU rules..

Its not up for interprentation the race is flown under WHPU rules and therefore is eligable.  I appreciate what the combine did but it achieved nothing really as the WHU is still the governing body unless the race is flown with the RPRA, which its not.   And abviousley with the Double combine comes Fed etc..

rob i appriciate what you are saying

but gail pionted out that th trophies were won by performances on the new north road federation

and further more the combine is a seperate organisation from the whpu so they are obviously competing under there own rulings

this is a concern i didnt really want to get into im sure if you give gail a ring on monday she would be more qualified to explain it than me or anyone else

Sorry for delay Rob,i was of the opinion that you and Gavin were in with a shout and when i spoke to him earlier the first thing he said was that did you win it?

I thought both of you were in with a chance and take nothing away from the winners as it is always down to the judges and the performances that were top drawer, but i was not aware that your combine performances were not eligable and i think Gail will clarify all when she has time.

With the Welsh North Road taking all the trophys maybe we have missed something.?

To clarify, all combine winners were eligible and submitted for all whpu trophies.

They were judged by NWHU.

Robert, unfortunately your pigeon entered for the taffy bowen sprint trpohy, only one of it's performances was eligible, i,e the lilliers race, as the TB trophy is for races up 300 miles.

that's it for now as I'm off out and if Robert wants to see me up the club tonight I'm ready for the vodka ;D ;D ;D

Gail, Thanks for the clarification.

Am surprised to hear that the Taffy Bowen Trophy is for under 300 miles only as this is not stated in the WHU rule book, where as the parameters for the Qeens Cup are clearly stipulated, however, if that's what it is, it is.

Neil, I still don't understand how Gav's bird didn't get a look in?  I think there was 1700 birds in Bonn?

Never mind we live to fight another day, hey.
