the break down is supposed to be the race then feed lightly building them up during the week ;) feed too heavy birds become fat exercise is reduced , feed too light there exercise is reduced , its finding a good ballance ;) and you wouldnt feed the same for a sprint race as you would a distance race ;)

No rights or wrongs on this one mate. There are many successful fanciers who break down and many who don't so as you will never ever get an answer that is is right or wrong bets to get a book or a a really good local fancier and try to copy him then develop your own way

in my area they fly south road eg france ect and south easst eg belg ect know the racing on the belg route is very fast every week no matter the weather or wind where as the south is alot steader a man who is awwsum flying south cnt fly as well on the east and he doesnt use a brake down but uses a proportion of race mix all the time ??????????? what you say to that :-/

keep a dairy and when it works you have notes of how you achieved it thats the beauty of racing many ideas and theorys what works for Bill wont always work for Jack ;)

will do !!!!!!! but looking at that ,i think the break down may be a gud option or a lighter high carb food is the thing for sprints

hi mate, i think good birds will win no matter which way you feed as long as there healthy, ive tried everyway of feeding over the years, hopper fed beans, hopper fed race mix, broke down beginning of week then built up mid week onwards and still won, so i would say dont be afraid to try different ways as i said health is the main thing, if you aint got that, doesnt matter which way you feed they wont win mate, jmo.

many roads lead to rome some break them down some don't and they win both ways it depends on the pigeons and the man that flies them  totally agree with davy fleming get a system you like use it then fiddle with it till its suits you it may take acouple of years but it'll wirth it if successful
