Just sat hear at work and suddenly thought back to my introduction to Pigeons, was my first day at Big school (seniors) think it was 1968/9, on the route to new school there was a shop that had Pigeons in the window, in fact it was full of them inside too, took me best part of a week to pluck up the courage to go in and ask "how much is a Pigeon", from memory I think they were 2 bob, anyway it took me a month too get my hands on that much money, but still remember the saturday arrived to go get my first Pigeon and the big dark chq cock I bought,no boxes then just a big strong brown paper bag to carry him home in,  (Happy days)The shop was called  THE CAGE and was on Basall heath rd,B,Ham anyone on here remember it ?

no ,never seen "the cage" ,did occasionaly buy the odd white bird from "pets corner" in Shrewsbury . they often had the odd rung racer in the shop.                       andy.
