Pig Posted August 20, 2009 Report Posted August 20, 2009 Are they exhibition fantails or garden fantails? It will make a difference. I would suggest leaving them in for 3 weeks and then not feeding them the day before releasing them. Howver my Garden fantails escaped on day 2 and have stayed. Was VERY lucky i think.
Peckedhen Posted August 20, 2009 Report Posted August 20, 2009 I don't know how exhibition fantails would fare in a dovecote. My garden fantails were under a net for just less than a week and stayed fine.
Guest Owen Posted August 20, 2009 Report Posted August 20, 2009 Sorry to show my ignorance but where do you keep exhibition fantails? Do they have all the same things that racing pigeons do? I have often admired them and maybe one day I'll have a go at keeping a few. But I would'nt know where to start right now.
