Guest Greig the doo Drysdale Posted December 14, 2009 Report Posted December 14, 2009 If a club goes defunct and there is money in the pot and baskets ect to be sold what happens to the money and if any members owe money to that club whats the score on that situation
Guest Posted December 14, 2009 Report Posted December 14, 2009 the funds are split between the remainding paid up members .as for any money owing ? you could ask ,but iwouldnt expect it? and also wouldnt know at seasons end why monies should be owing. andy.
Guest frank dooman Posted December 14, 2009 Report Posted December 14, 2009 all assets sold and all funds shared equaly between all fully paid up members no member who owes the club money is due there share
Guest IB Posted December 14, 2009 Report Posted December 14, 2009 Much same in SHU. 'Club Assets must be realised and divided equally amongst all members who are free from debt to club'.
Guest Posted December 14, 2009 Report Posted December 14, 2009 At the end of the day a club is a business so every chance it could have outstanding debt's at anytime of the year such as unpaid (but not overdue) credit terms etc youve lost me there ,why on earth would a club offer credit terms?? andy.
Guest Posted December 14, 2009 Report Posted December 14, 2009 Nothing to stop the club having been given credit terms (which is what i meant) OK now i understand ,thank you Vallance. andy.
DOVEScot Posted December 14, 2009 Report Posted December 14, 2009 It will depend on your club constitution, but much the same as what has been said before :-/

Guest IB Posted December 15, 2009 Report Posted December 15, 2009 has your club closed West Lothian Fed has folded because 3 of its club no longer have sufficient members to form a club; Greig is in Pumpherston, not sure which Fed that is, but in today's climate of reducing membership, it is still a very topical question.
Guest Greig the doo Drysdale Posted December 16, 2009 Report Posted December 16, 2009 has your club closed It has yes we are now 1 club in a small area instead of 2 so better in the long run only thing is 2 members didnt get in as there is a boundery and they are out it.
Guest Owen Posted December 16, 2009 Report Posted December 16, 2009 I have to say that I do not like the sound of leaving people who formally flew with you, out in the cold. Surely you could accomadate them, even if you made it an exception due to the circumstances.
Guest frank dooman Posted December 16, 2009 Report Posted December 16, 2009 the days of boundrys are finnished another 100yr old rule that will help end our sport

Surely you could accomadate them, even if you made it an exception due to the circumstances. They have joined a club closer to where they live. The club we were in had 2 clubs in a small village with members through out West Lothian granted most of us are quite close in distance with the exception of 2 i think the one club now has a membership of about 17 which will be one of the biggest in the fed.
Guest Owen Posted December 16, 2009 Report Posted December 16, 2009 Sorry for doubting you. But I am with frank dooman on this. The days of boundries to keep people out should be over. And before anyone has a go at me, I am aware that pigeon racing is not fair. It never has been. Unfairness is built in to the sport, whether we like it or not. But I think it is high time we worked at bringing the sport into the modern age. After all it is a wonderful sport to be involved with and I am sure there are a lot of people of all ages and of both sexes who would get an awful lot from it.

I agree with you about boundaries the darts league i play in has the same rule the club that has folded was the one i was in and i'm gratefull to Pumpherston Premier for accepting us as for the other two members i wish they could be with us but thats not up to me
Guest stb- Posted December 16, 2009 Report Posted December 16, 2009 the days of boundrys are finnished another 100yr old rule that will help end our sport got to agree on that one cant afford it nowadays
Guest JonesyBhoy Posted December 16, 2009 Report Posted December 16, 2009 100% agreement.. keepin a man from racing his doos because hes outwith an age old boundary is shocking.. Whats even worse, in this day and age, is narrow minded fanciers within clubs and federations that specificly move boundaries to keep fanciers out..!!!!

Whats even worse, in this day and age, is narrow minded fanciers within clubs and federations that specificly move boundaries to keep fanciers out..!!!!The persons that have been left out had to travel about 6 or 7 miles to our club they now travel 2 miles max to their new club if it was upto me they would be with the rest of us
Guest IB Posted December 17, 2009 Report Posted December 17, 2009 It is open to the remaining club to change its boundaries to allow all lofts in the defunct Pumpherston club to fly in the surviving one. Or have the other 2 members already joined another club?
dwh Posted December 17, 2009 Report Posted December 17, 2009 how many clubs u reckon still stick to there boundries?
Guest Greig the doo Drysdale Posted December 18, 2009 Report Posted December 18, 2009 When clubs/members change Boundaries to stop certain members from flying is "not a smart move". They have cost the member a few dollars now that he has Lofts-clocks-birds that he no longer have a use for. The OLD saying: Don't get "mad"--get "even". Sorry Don we use £ Sterling here ;D
