Was just reading over his article from last week's RP, and he some's up today's pigeon fancy pretty well..

..'Today, one word rules the pigeon world: 'quick'. It applies to importing modern 'tail - wind' strains, winter breeding with them, missusing antibiotics, giving enhancing substances, darking or the use or artificial light with young birds, racing the yearlings at the extreme distance and getting rid of the birds after only one or two years. This denotes a consumer attitude that will finally lead the pigeon fancy to naught.' ...

Ive got to say i agree with him.. where has the patience gone in pigeons..?? Working over decades to create your own family of birds.. that are born robust and continue thru life with natural health. Racing to the front thru exeptional motivation and fitness not thru potions and fads..

got to agree with both posts,,  you never seen the likes of robert cormack,of wynchburgh, [on the rennes result for well over  20 odd years],, pulling flights from a yb for a power moult,!!! to win a yb race, even darkening ybs just to win a yb race ,,, ,, and all above,!!!!, medications etc,, the likes of these fanciers are far fewer found to-day,, ,,,,,i would add to this  good post in saying

"racing in the front thru exeptional breeding, motivation, fitness, and exceptional experienced know how, and fantastic loft management",,
