Silverdale Lofts Posted September 11, 2005 Report Posted September 11, 2005 where you had them from fifer
Guest Posted September 11, 2005 Report Posted September 11, 2005 i get mine from top fliers up and down the country i dont belevie in big studs.
Guest shadow Posted September 18, 2005 Report Posted September 18, 2005 If you try Rod sparkes you will be getting them from a top flyer as I said Kevin hurst and rod flew as partners until kevin moved overseas the stock birds were sold and rod kept the racing team. Now he is selling birds bred from the race team he is only a back garden flyer not a stud. fly hard fly fair
grooter Posted September 24, 2005 Report Posted September 24, 2005 i had six from louella this year jim smith wildemeersch lost 3 not bad birds no problems with them not won with them first year racing this year so raced up to 120 miles then stoped them yours in sport grooter
snowy Posted September 27, 2005 Report Posted September 27, 2005 hi, another local i have just met has offered me a pair of birds he purchased from louella PW, there is a mealey cock 03 & brown check hen i think 03, obviously i dont think these will ever break to my loft, but was going to breed them, as he has bred 2 good ones that have won a few races out of 8 bred, so with respect im a new starter & low on stock, when do you think the best time to breed from these birds? all advice appreciated.
Guest shadow Posted September 27, 2005 Report Posted September 27, 2005 It depends how early you want your young birds , you can pair up from Jan until march it depends on what system you are going to race your old birds, or your young birds. fly hard fly fair
carl Posted September 28, 2005 Author Report Posted September 28, 2005 Snowy i pair up early january and seems to work fine.
snowy Posted September 28, 2005 Report Posted September 28, 2005 thanks, i just dont know what to do , as i dont have enough birds to race next year, unless i get some old birds n breed them jan or feb, as i have 2 late breds & 1 late late bred which will be ready next week, is it worth me having them any way to breed off jan or feb?
Guest Posted September 28, 2005 Report Posted September 28, 2005 Snowy, if your latebreds are just ready now, they'll hardly be ready to breed from in January. It takes a while to get a team of pigeons together, but there's nothing worse than having a team of 1st round youngsters all different ages (i.e. weeks between them), so maybe mid-February would be a better target date - that way you can set all your breeders down at the same time.
snowy Posted September 29, 2005 Report Posted September 29, 2005 yes i think your right, but was thinking of breeding a few old birds too, which now i realise im better off doing all at the same time, so maybe end of jan i was thinking?
carl Posted October 2, 2005 Author Report Posted October 2, 2005 Snowy get yourself some sitters and float the eggs under them its much quicker if you want to breed more.
Guest Posted October 22, 2005 Report Posted October 22, 2005 Got a hen i bought about 7 years ago, won 7 x 1 prizes for me. Flor Vervoot Hen
Guest Posted October 22, 2005 Report Posted October 22, 2005 she is moving in the stock lofts in end of December.
THE FIFER Posted November 8, 2005 Report Posted November 8, 2005 SILVERDALE U ASKED ME (THE FIFER) WHERE I GET MY BIRDS FROM
big_al Posted December 14, 2005 Report Posted December 14, 2005 BOUGHT 6 JANSSENS & 6 Busschaerts . Still got 5 out off the 6 Janssens raced every YB race including the National. But all the Busschaerts lost. So will definetly invest in more Janssens next year
andrew Posted December 15, 2005 Report Posted December 15, 2005 hi, i brought 3 c&g koopman birds fro louellas old lines i sold some ybs from them and the ybs won 7*1st club 3*1st fed and also winning 1st fed for 1 person, 2nd for another 20 min ahead
Guest Posted December 15, 2005 Report Posted December 15, 2005 ANDREW KOOPMAN'S FROM LOUELLA WHEN DID HE GET THEM AND WHAT LINES ARE THAY
Guest Posted December 17, 2005 Report Posted December 17, 2005 Do you find which better to breeding one family or cross family ?
schouwman71 Posted December 25, 2005 Report Posted December 25, 2005 i have had pigeons from l.p.w since 1988,these were the stamvater and sheer elagance line also 2 g.sons off "arjan". i must say that these pigeons were the best i ever had and they won races for fun.the biggest mistake i ever made was letting them go to replace them with sootjens even though they won they wouldnt have kept up with the janssens, i have just got some of my old line back them being 10 years old now but ime very happy with them. nearly every pigeon i have had from l.p.w have been good pigeons, if anybody intent to win fast races i would advise them to go for the old line from there janssens they are great. Best wishes for 2006.
schouwman71 Posted December 25, 2005 Report Posted December 25, 2005 i have found breeding from a closae family is better, you get better results in the stock loft also when there raced. i had 12 pigeons drop together from a 47 ml race and all were very closley related.these went on to win many more prizes in there racing careers.

I would expect all my birds to drop together from a 47 mile race ? thats a traing distance
Guest Posted December 27, 2005 Report Posted December 27, 2005 Schouwman What do you call the Old Line Janssens, are you referring to then 019 bloodlines
schouwman71 Posted December 27, 2005 Report Posted December 27, 2005 I would expect all my birds to drop together from a 47 mile race ? thats a traing distance i know its a training distance but sometimes you dont get them like that when you train them, never mind when theres over a 1000 pigeons liberated with them.
snowy Posted December 27, 2005 Report Posted December 27, 2005 after listening to all the experienced fanciers, dont think i would buy a pigeon from LPW or anywhere like that.
