blaz Posted January 3, 2010 Report Posted January 3, 2010 if its that bad cull it . if the best bird in my loft was like this it would be culled
owen101 Posted January 3, 2010 Report Posted January 3, 2010 cull it ut it is not his bird would you let someone cull your bird if they were new to the sport i woldnt be able to do it as to yet but if it was me would get it collected and assess it for myself and then if it bad the actual owner can take the appropriate action
blaz Posted January 3, 2010 Report Posted January 3, 2010 cull it ut it is not his bird would you let someone cull your bird if they were new to the sport i woldnt be able to do it as to yet but if it was me would get it collected and assess it for myself and then if it bad the actual owner can take the appropriate action if you ever get one of my birds in or any one you know gets any of my birds in uninjured, the it is no use to me on return i would cull it.do you think for a minute the fancier that owns this bird is going to keep it if he gets it back no it will be culled .
Guest exoticlover Posted January 3, 2010 Report Posted January 3, 2010 i have culled birds before as used to breed and keep quails for eggs and meat al keep the bird till morning in the hope the owner gets back to me it has perked up alot am just unsure why it would of been acting the way it was am not new to pigeons just the racing side of things and breeds that race av kept fancy breeds for 7 years just never seen one act like this
owen101 Posted January 3, 2010 Report Posted January 3, 2010 i understand that as is it they say once a strag always a strag or somin along them lines i was just sayin that i would not want to cull any birds JMO i am younger and not been in the sport that long so would not want to do anything that severe yet if anyone got a pigeon of mine in i would not want it back in my loft as it will wander into another loft at a later date
Guest exoticlover Posted January 3, 2010 Report Posted January 3, 2010 if you ever get one of my birds in or any one you know gets any of my birds in uninjured, the it is no use to me on return i would cull it.do you think for a minute the fancier that owns this bird is going to keep it if he gets it back no it will be culled . i had heard alot of birds are culled by there owners on return as the have not done what they are trained to do and had asked if i could keep the bird as am just starting to get into the racing side of things altho am yet to own racing birds my fancy birds are pets and i dont mind keeping a few racers as pets as well if there not good racers and there owners dont want them so if you get any you dont want send them my way altho i would also like to get a few good birds i could race my self
blaz Posted January 3, 2010 Report Posted January 3, 2010 owen culling birds i am afraid is part of racing anyone telling you it is not is talking crap.i hate having to cull birds.i got asked years ago if i could cull birds from a member i said yes .he asked if i would go down to give him a hand to cull some.yes i said thinking 3or 4 or something like that. wrong evry single bird in the loft babies ybs yearlings old birds the lot .so when i say to anyone to cull a bird it is not a quick decision.this is a lost strag that is suffering . also putting other birds at risk of illness
owen101 Posted January 3, 2010 Report Posted January 3, 2010 yes totally agree no-one told me not to cull i just dont know if i could do it to someone elses bird i could do it to my own if they were not upto scratch or going to affect any others and i see what you mean about illnesses gary but exoticlover i think may be keeping the bird all the best with the bird if you do exoticlover
blaz Posted January 3, 2010 Report Posted January 3, 2010 if you are serious about racing birds .you are in edinburgh then i will help get you started , as i have one or 2 good race birds
