chichichi Posted February 15, 2010 Report Posted February 15, 2010 Are the welsh homing union allowing 2010 rings from belgium to race.. the RPRA and NEHU have stopped these being used ,, Has anyone asked the WHPU,, Members in the club are asking as many trips are going over soon.. ant
pjc Posted February 15, 2010 Report Posted February 15, 2010 I asked Ant and there has been nothing put forward to prevent them as of last week.
chichichi Posted February 15, 2010 Author Report Posted February 15, 2010 Phil I thought the union decided if they were allowed or not.. lots of boys were asking in the meeting and one of the ponty boys said they were not allowed.. I expect the oldman will ring tomorrow.. he should have asked today when he phoned..lol.. ant
pjc Posted February 15, 2010 Report Posted February 15, 2010 I asked Gail either last week or the week before as I have some here and was told there is no restriction on racing them as long as they are registered with the WHPU.
Guest tom123 Posted February 15, 2010 Report Posted February 15, 2010 theres nothing in the whu hope its not a follow the leader situation then again rpra and nehu are only two unions in the country who have imposed this , why should we follow them ,and bare in mind forgien rings are a good money spinner for the whu in registration which i think will be stupid to throw away :-/
ceebee48 Posted February 15, 2010 Report Posted February 15, 2010 if it has been found that these rings can be manipulated and put on old birds it should be nipped in the bud straight away not wait until somebody does it and gets away with fellow fanciers money
Guest tom123 Posted February 15, 2010 Report Posted February 15, 2010 thats why the european unions have have had them for two years so there members can be accused of cheating i dont think so ,just another change and progress that someone somewhere dont like just the same when ets was brought in ,but how many would give them back now ,now theve used it for a year not many is the ansewer
ceebee48 Posted February 15, 2010 Report Posted February 15, 2010 ets does not come into it .why are the belgiums in 2011 going back to the metal inserts .the dutch and french rings have metal inserts .so your point about the european unions is wrong .if there is any doubt about these rings they should not be allowed
Guest tom123 Posted February 15, 2010 Report Posted February 15, 2010 ets does not come into it .why are the belgiums in 2011 going back to the metal inserts .the dutch and french rings have metal inserts .so your point about the european unions is wrong .if there is any doubt about these rings they should not be allowed they are more likely to be doing it over the complaints they have had from belgium fanciers not being able to sell at lier market to english fanciers
Guest tom123 Posted February 15, 2010 Report Posted February 15, 2010 ets does come into has it was the same when thast was introduced fault finding for weeks until fanciers excepted it was here to stay now there biting on something else now
chichichi Posted February 15, 2010 Author Report Posted February 15, 2010 Tom how has ETS come into this thread,, ETS is secure,, belgian rings are not.. they can be manipulated with heat,, thats a fact,, Tom these rings are being withdrawn for a reason,, The reason is they can be manipulated,, they do not comply with the FCI standard in 2010.. this is the reason for the 2011 change.. best of luck ant
pjc Posted February 15, 2010 Report Posted February 15, 2010 not only Belgium rings but all rings without a metal sleeve/insert.
chichichi Posted February 15, 2010 Author Report Posted February 15, 2010 Agree phill all rings with out metal inserts do not comply with FCI standard.. A bloke in the know is saying they are not allowed,, but I do not think the WHPU has ruled against them,, The problem is people have bought these with no ban in place so they will have to let them go for 2010.. best of luck ant
chichichi Posted February 15, 2010 Author Report Posted February 15, 2010 none, ;D ;D ;D :P . boys been arguing down club over it..lmao.. doesn't make a difference to us,, but oldman gets asked all the questions as he is sec,, I expect they will allow them for 2010 as many have been over and bought birds.. You would be surprised how many go over and buy for young bird racing,, 2011 will be back to the normal though.. This year the welsh are getting a good deal with all the others not wanting them to race.. so they can get a good deal for them at lier.. Time will tell what happens,, but can't see them banning them for racing,, so it will only really affect 2010.. best of luck ant
pjc Posted February 15, 2010 Report Posted February 15, 2010 make sure they don't forget to register them! ;)
chichichi Posted February 15, 2010 Author Report Posted February 15, 2010 make sure they don't forget to register them! ;) lmao.. phil we are RPRA racing now,, Training only for the east route..lol.. keeps them on line.. ;) ant
Guest tom123 Posted February 16, 2010 Report Posted February 16, 2010 i mentioned ets because once again for the folowing reason ets the rings are new to most members over here, and a few dont like change be it for the good or not be it with or without inserts ,noone seemed to mind when we had the old aluminium rings years ago before the plastic ones came out now they most probably could have been heated up and strectched but i think what your missing is the piont that these belgium rings are moulded and once you heat them that mould is broken and will show markes of tampering plus has anyone seen one once done is the lettering still in tact i dont know ,if you read other threads you will notice rpra members are not happy with the new rpra rings brought in which do have metal inserts but they dont like the lugs on the side , over the next few weeks that will die a death as well
pjc Posted February 16, 2010 Report Posted February 16, 2010 Same old thing Tom, many don't like something new but there are still choices at the moment. But I think its more to do with the RPRA not asking the membership for an opinion before imposing the rings upon them. Just want to race my birds and as long as they have a legal ring on the legs i couldn't give a monkeys what it looks like!
Guest tom123 Posted February 16, 2010 Report Posted February 16, 2010 ok the belgiums may or may not be bringing in metal inserted rings for 2011 hope they do will put an end to all this dispute we are having this year ,then it`ll be something else most probably not right
Guest tom123 Posted February 16, 2010 Report Posted February 16, 2010 nothing wrong with them there like rpra rings
clayton moore Posted February 16, 2010 Report Posted February 16, 2010 Tom, im sure you mean well, however the reason this years rings are being dissallowed is you can apply heat to them and take them off.2009 rings are the same but becouse they have already raced wearing them they are being allowed to stand. Im sure you will be one of the first to shout if your national winner is found to be a ringer.(no pun intended)The ring must have failsafe features being unable to get it off is a one. When the ring cools it returns like a ripple in the lake to its old self.
Guest tom123 Posted February 16, 2010 Report Posted February 16, 2010 cant see it myself has plastic has to be moulded ,but everyones got a right to an opinion and i except and respect that everything in any sport is subject to cheating and someone somewhere will always try it on has they have done for many years if it aint rings it`l be something else, but until someone is caught in the act be it ets rings ,clocks ,rubbers etc and and made example of thers no case to anssewer is there? . has this could go on for months debating it ,it remains to see how many are caught if any at the end of the year i suppose so lets look back on this at the end of the year and wonder what all the fuss was about
soapy Posted February 16, 2010 Report Posted February 16, 2010 tom 123 i got your point ,sme fanciers complain just for the sake of complaining. if you put a handfull of shaving to little in the racing panniers they would complain . same with a handfull to much
