Its very common, it could be anything from the egg got cold whilst bird wasnt sitting, this normally happens when the hen lays her first egg, she doesnt start sitting untill the second is laid and if its very cold then it can kill the egg. it could also be that the egg wasnt fertilised by the cock, or could have died from disease.

no not possible.

because i start with baby pigeon and this two egg is first in last 25 years in my custody.

some how they dropping lap over the eggs. as far i know any one of we dont touch the eggs.

the egg is still not hatched and the birds were keep it on their nest.

if the egg is damaged/rotten why they remove it? :o

the birds won't remove the unhatched egg. Pick it up and shine a torch through it, if its clear and you can see through the egg was infertile if the torch won't shine through, shake the egg, if it rattles (the insides shake around) the chick has died during its development.

Pigeons don't remove eggs from their nest, Mamun. Not captive birds anyway. You've to remove them yourself, and the one in your photo needs to be removed quickly as it will give off gas. Replace it with a plastic egg to give the youngster support in the nest.

As others say, many reasons eggs don't hatch. For example the shell is very dirty. Dirt could allow bacteria to invade and kill the egg / growing youngster inside it. I don't get them very often, usually happens to me with an older youngster already in the nest, and hen lays again. I clean a dirty egg by spitting on it, and rubbing it clean in a clean paper towel.

To help answer your question, take that egg away and break the shell into a bowl. Don't do it in the house, the family wouldn't like it, doing this is not very nice and you will end up with a rotten egg smell.  :) If its liquid inside, then the egg has not developed, and if there is a dead youngster in it, that is what we call dead in shell, it has died as something has gone wrong  in it.

hi mamun, :),,, so this is your first yb.. very good,, best of luck, :), ,, a shame about the other egg, but this sometimes happens , as explained above,,,,,,never mind it wont be long before the yb grows very quickly,, plenty grit, minerals and feeding :),, ,,,,then in a few weeks , the hen[mother] bird will lay two eggs again :),, so next time, maybe luckier,,, good luck :)
