Guest strapper Posted June 26, 2009 Report Posted June 26, 2009 my m8 has 26 lost or damaged birds in just 3 attacks recently. he has tried several different times of flying his birds out and still get attacks. the birds no longer wish to range and keep very close to the house. the hawk has driven his birds through pylon wires ...1st attack through the wires cost him 8 birds...with 4injuries which are quite bad.

Guest IB Posted June 26, 2009 Report Posted June 26, 2009 Think its time we started thinking about real deterrents for these peregrines, they are taking one hell of a toll on folks pigeons across Britain. Wondered if the bird-scaring rocket could be adapted to look like a pigeon in flight, a doodlebug that is fired hundreds of feet into the air which glides back to earth, inviting attack, and when it comes, explodes on impact? With passage of time, they would learn not to go after 'pigeons'.
