Geraint Parry Posted January 13, 2010 Report Posted January 13, 2010 best deterant is another bird of prey, used to have barn owl, were told as soon as he came there we wouldnt see a hawk, and we never!!
Guest IB Posted January 13, 2010 Report Posted January 13, 2010 I've posted before that in my opinion these guys might be able to help solve this problem, at least for some of us. Could their captive birds clean out their territory of other hawks?
Guest youngboy Posted January 14, 2010 Report Posted January 14, 2010 well he is a trained hawk anyway with bells on him!! yes eagle owls are also hawk killers wouldn mind gettin one eagle owls follow by day hunt by night! they also have a taste for perigrines!
cowman Posted January 14, 2010 Report Posted January 14, 2010 best deterant is another bird of prey, used to have barn owl, were told as soon as he came there we wouldnt see a hawk, and we never!! ive got one of the eagle owls that i move from post to post the sh gives my garden a wide birth . strange thing is the nursing home has loads of white doves down the road and they don`t seem to be hit very often either.
Guest youngboy Posted January 14, 2010 Report Posted January 14, 2010 thats because eagke owls dont feast on doves/pigeons/wodddpigeons they feast on birds of prey and bigger birds
