Guest mick bowler Posted February 12, 2010 Report Posted February 12, 2010 Online and Phone in auction of 2010 Youngbird’s, in aid of the Colin Bowler Memorial Fund for Cancer charities. This sale of top class 2010 young birds will take place on www.pigeonbasics.com from around the 13th February 2010 and finish on the weekend of 27th/28th February 2010. There will be two parts to the sale, lots 1 to 40 in sale one and lots 41 and above in sale two. There are two ways to bid, either by phone to the numbers shown below or online at www.forum.pigeonbasics.com The phone bid facility will only be available on ALL lots up to 8pm on Friday 26th February 2010, from there on only online bids will be accepted. I decided to set up the fund in memory of my father Colin, who was also my racing partner for over 20 years. He succumbed to this dreaded disease in December of 2007. He loved the pigeons, and although ill health kept him from keeping his own in later years, he was always around my lofts on racing day or weekends, and always kept in touch with many of his fancier friends. The overwhelming feeling of being "Helpless" during his illness, inspired me to set up this fund and try to give what help I can to those who are also affected by this disease on a regular and daily basis. We have already received nearly £3,000 from previous sales and cash donations and from this we have already made donations to The Velindre Ward appeal by Gail Jones of the WHRPU and to the Maddison Staveley appeal, also on www.pigeonbasics.com. As well as these we will be making donations to two children’s charities, one in Mayo, Ireland, http://www.cdshelpinghands.ie/ and one in the UK http://www.whenyouwishuponastar.org.uk/ There will be further donations made to those that are on the frontline fighting this disease as well, the cancer wards, the hospices and the palliative care nurses. We will be giving financial help towards the small things that matter, the things that count and that make peoples lives a little easier for both those suffering and those helping. Thank you to all donators and the best of luck to all bidders, we hope you can help us in making this sale a success that the receiving charities deserve.
Guest mick bowler Posted February 27, 2010 Report Posted February 27, 2010 Please note we have changed the phone bids so they will be accepted up to 6pm on the day of the sale finish.
