mid week clubs seem to be declining like miler clubs seem to have died out .

Hi. Wasn't a different club. Same club raced wed and sat. Can't remember if this was young birds or not but think it must have been. Only raced a couple maybe three years all by myself (12 yr old) no one else involved so don't really know much but since finding this site and the great attitude of the members has re-kindled the fire. It appears a lot has changed and the birds have a harder time of it, weather, hawks, illness, ambition, attitude etc, etc. but you do have one very good addition to the sport that can be used to overcome present and future hurdles, namely your computer and a great tool it is in the right hands. I beleive this site and its members could be a very powerfull force in the developement of the sport and that can only be a good thing. What's a miler club?

Ha! that's what my mates and I used to do when we first got birds. We'd put a couple each in a cardboard box someone would liberate maybe half a mile away ( walking of course ) then when you got your bird in you'd run ( aye run ) up to the grass circle in the street which was aprox. equal distance from our lofts. Was great fun and cost nowt. Of course we did fall out occasionally as all doo men do.(evil)
