Guest lenwadebob Posted January 26, 2010 Report Posted January 26, 2010 A for me gr8 birds will win in spite of what you do to them ;) Sorry I don't agree, I have seen many a good pigeon down the years change hands for what ever reason, or even pigeons remain at the same loft under different management skills, that have never performed the same as they did under their original management. Like a good Jockey on an average horse, he will get results out of it.
pigeonscout Posted January 26, 2010 Report Posted January 26, 2010 It matters not how good a bird is, but more wether you can get the best out of it! Agree, as only good management can make a great bird.
Old Pied Posted January 27, 2010 Author Report Posted January 27, 2010 Hi All Well then it seems that majority fanciers (who replied) think that good management are 'more important' than good birds. Well I'll also go for B. Since it is all about 'who will win the avareges at the end of the year?', I think that B with good management will fly more consistant over a period of months, maybe not even winning a single race, but should be there 'near the front' more often than not. 'A' would get his wins (every now and then), but missing the sheet every few races due to bad managment, would not make 'A' a champion. My 50 cents worth Regards Old Pied
Ricorico Posted January 27, 2010 Report Posted January 27, 2010 My opinion is up to 400 mls the most important is the mangement ( training, motivation ...) but for the very long distance races the most important is the bread of the bird( if the bird it is not bread right for the distance , with a good management that pigeon will not win at 700 mls). Thanks, Dan
