what does the forum think about ybs hatching early may [saves a lot of grub and cleaning for a start ;D] but ive found these ybs reared in better weather [warmer,,,hopefully ;D]are very well grown , trained at 9 weeks old then kept going , ive found these birds far better feathered[ moult wise] and only on there 3d 4th flight by the last race ,,,i was 4th region scottish nat with a pigeon that went to the first race still half squeecking [you know ;D the in between bit between the coo and the squeeck ;D,, but trained well

Flying Naural as I do with my youngsters,I do find more often than not I get better performances from these later youngsters,as I breed late anyway with my main batch of youngsters only weaned this week end,possibily to do with parents having a good degree of natural daylight,again my opinion.

My natural young birds seem much more active and flappy and willing to fly than the dark birds in my darkness section and both lots of yb's have been out at the same time

I lose most of my birds flying around home, not racing. So for me breeding later makes sense, ie there is less time to lose them before the races start.
