big don Posted August 11, 2008 Report Posted August 11, 2008 hello all i have had my young hens and cocks seperated for the last 5 weeks . i know hens pair up but do cocks and will they tread ? one cock is a large cheq the other is a small pied smaller than my hens he drives like a cock and between him and his mate rule the loft floor and i have to remoove both as to let the other cocks eat and drink . ;D the pied has been to two races as a cock and performed well so today i let the birds run together thinking they would pick a hen but as im watching the cocks and hens showing to each other i saw the cheq tread the pied . can this happen ? :-/ yours in sport don

Guest IB Posted August 11, 2008 Report Posted August 11, 2008 Cocks will pair to each other. Had it happen twice with young cocks, with one of each pair racing particularly well. Paired with hens no bother as yearlings.
