Guest Owen Posted March 6, 2009 Report Posted March 6, 2009 I have started to split the sexes. Cocks are left with YBs to rear. And I have 5 hens unpaired and fit as fleas. If the weather is good I will start them on the road next week. I hope I don't speak too soon, but I have a good feeling about the birds this year. My main worry now is if the hawks and peregrines leave me alone to get them fit. I have noticed that when the widowhood cocks get really fit they seem to be able to avoid the peregrine and they are never allowed to hang about near the loft for the hawk to get at them. So it's fingers crossed all the way for me. ;)
