Pompey Lad Posted June 1, 2008 Report Posted June 1, 2008 to my knowledge after being the only fed to hold over in france yesterday the solent fed have moved back from messac (211 miles) to lessay (113) this morning and have liberated at 10:35 in a L N E wind
thunderboult Posted June 1, 2008 Report Posted June 1, 2008 you'll be thanking your lucky star's after you see how everyone else got on yesterday out of messac.
Pompey Lad Posted June 1, 2008 Author Report Posted June 1, 2008 i don't know i'd rather gone from messac yesterday the reason they held over was because apprently the classic birds were still flying around the lib site at 12:45. what i want to know is if that is the case why did the welsh national let go at 12:55 and why were there 198 first birds recorded last night in the classic and it was won down here in portsmouth.
Pompey Lad Posted June 1, 2008 Author Report Posted June 1, 2008 sorry just a bit stressed over the whole situation we're holding over nearly every week the birds that are racing today have now got to be jumped to tours (253 miles) for their next race. i don't believe thats fair but the two come back races are from lessay before our two biggest races
thunderboult Posted June 1, 2008 Report Posted June 1, 2008 i know how you feel pompey lad, i was stressed yesterday when the classic had gone up and our's had'nt they say the sun broke through about 1 o'clock .it's turned out to be a bit of a tough race, going by the times i've seen them birds must have crossed around portsmouth area yesterday, so i'd be gutted also. all the best for today.
mark Posted June 1, 2008 Report Posted June 1, 2008 perhaps if birds were not clearing the liberation site its a good reason to hold you would of moaned if they libed them you moan if they dont.
thunderboult Posted June 1, 2008 Report Posted June 1, 2008 we've had a tough race but i'm happy , i wanted them to lib no matter what the weather , birds that can only come in nice weather are no good to me, because as soon as they hit some bad stuff, down they go.

Pompey Lad Posted June 1, 2008 Author Report Posted June 1, 2008 in my opinion a bit of cloud at racepoint doesn't hurt a pigeon ans once they are racing a shower will be no probs be they will carry fighting their way through it. i didn't have a bad race today a bit behind but got 13 out of 13 but this was not the race i wanted as my pigeons have got more distance blood and from messac onwards or there abouts is where thay start to perform.
