chichichi Posted August 31, 2008 Report Posted August 31, 2008 what a cock up.. 7am,, 1pm they will have to liberate today,, they will be forced to.. goodluck ant
taffacre Posted August 31, 2008 Report Posted August 31, 2008 glad that i didnt send ,it just doesnt make sence, they can change the raceday during the earlier races, but come the national they just will not shift.i heard that the Rhondda valley wanted to go friday for saturday but were stoppped,i dont know if this is true but surely they were making the right decision.this season has been a disaster, friday libs monday and now this,no wonder people are leaving the sport.cant see the birds being up today and tomorrow NO CHANCE,anyway good luck to those who have sent.

taffacre Posted August 31, 2008 Report Posted August 31, 2008 the race controller for the welsh nationals asked in a meeting on tuesday to change because of the weather and was told NO they were to go sat for sunday liberation.
pjc Posted August 31, 2008 Report Posted August 31, 2008 They were changed at the beggining of the season to help prevent clashing, for everybodys benefit! I left Wales this morning and drove accross to Peterborough arriving at about 10 and at no point enroute was it fit to liberate birds! We stayed there for a couple of hours and the fog started to burn off but it still didn't clear. On the way back we then hit heavy rain and the first fit weather we hit was when back in South Wales before yet again coming into rain at the home end! Def the right desicion to hold! Phil
taff Posted August 31, 2008 Report Posted August 31, 2008 whats the chances of liberating tomorrow phil
pjc Posted August 31, 2008 Report Posted August 31, 2008 If the wind picks up and moves any early mist they've got a chance but if it stays closed in again I can see them brining them back nearer home on tues.
chichichi Posted August 31, 2008 Report Posted August 31, 2008 I think the problem tomorrow is the home end,, rain is coming into wales from 10 am,, 1pm,, we got 20 there,, lets hope the rain stays lower than expected.. goodluck ant
pjc Posted August 31, 2008 Report Posted August 31, 2008 a lot have the oinion that if the birds get a good start the'll come through rain at the home end.
chichichi Posted August 31, 2008 Report Posted August 31, 2008 fingers crossed,, but with a south west wind aswell it will test them to the limit,, also the futher they go the less chance they have.. goodluck ant
taffacre Posted August 31, 2008 Report Posted August 31, 2008 you can forget about them coming back nearer, they never have and even if they did where would they come back too, this is the shortest lib for the national, think they will stay, not looking good though. ramsgate next week,i dont think so.
pjc Posted August 31, 2008 Report Posted August 31, 2008 whatever they do i can't see them changing Ramsgate!
