Guest Owen Posted July 26, 2009 Report Posted July 26, 2009 Well Tom if you've convinced yourself that it is YBS that's fine. But how do you account for the slow times and the fact that even your birds were spread out. After all when the birds are released at Swindon they can see Newport. Surely you would agree that the Newport pigeons should have galloped home from Swindon. There was good visability and not too much wind, so were was the trouble then? As the information is becoming available I think you will see that the birds are being reported in the Midlands and as far afield as Liverpool. There could have been some YBS in the birds but I think we will see that it was a major clash that messed things up. You were right to bring up the subject of YBS. I am sure that Clubs are not checking the birds before they are basketed. And they will allow birds with food in them to go into the baskets. To my mind that is very wrong, because we all know that one of the first signs of YBS is food in the crop. I think I will leave this subject to others to talk about because I have had enough of it now. But I will follow up what I have spoken about and I will garantee to expose these events if and when they happen in the future. As a sport I think we should make far more of an effort to get things right. Pigeons are not disposible objects to abuse any way we want and when there are big losses as there were yesterday we should all take it seriously.
adam owen Posted July 26, 2009 Report Posted July 26, 2009 i agee owen ,instead of fanciers thinking they are getting slammed for the work they do they shud take in to account what us the fancy av to say, after all with out us there wouldnt be a sport .and the way its goin when all the oldies go where will our sport be .ll we all want is the best for our pigeons and to enjoy the racing, but for the last 5 plus years all we av had is bad yb racing, so know its got to be time sit up and try sort the problam ,(with out people takin things personally).
Guest tom123 Posted July 26, 2009 Report Posted July 26, 2009 you need to live in newport to understand they dont come through here belive it or not they are drawn to the north and ark back to us has adam will confirm maybe so birds will be reported further north no arguement has they obviuouslly hit somrthing some where not disputing that just like last week clear blue skies birds away no excuse they should have come but never but we aint the only organisation having these sort of races if most are honest they would say the same but they convince themselves they had a good race but unless you can give evidence of any other incident to account for it theres nothing else on this matter tha hasnt been coverd during today
Guest tom123 Posted July 26, 2009 Report Posted July 26, 2009 not only that we have a few in our club think 1 or two tosses is enough they sent 20 and get eight back but it aint their fault its the r.c
holmsidelofts Posted July 26, 2009 Report Posted July 26, 2009 Gem gps would be the answer, we would know for sure which route they took. It wouldnt tell us which fed we hit but it would give us an idea of what route they took home.
adam owen Posted July 26, 2009 Report Posted July 26, 2009 i will agree tom they dnt come through newport ,when flying with kidd cooke and cocconut i was very surprised that they never after flying in ponty for so many years .so tom u r right .the birds come through usk thease days .
Guest strapper Posted July 26, 2009 Report Posted July 26, 2009 i think its good that we have... and can carry on a good debate without getting personal...we all are in the same boat after all. :) :)

adam owen Posted July 26, 2009 Report Posted July 26, 2009 i dont think theres enough time inbetween liberations.how many times u go training and they go round and round ,even when they av been there 5 or 6 times when exspect them go straght home .so whats to say they dnt do this on a saturday,so u cnt say to a fed give us ten mins to cut and birds to clear when half hour later they still with in a mile or two of the race point.so how many feds av the same problam, so when they all eventually go boom clashing all over the country.
Guest tom123 Posted July 26, 2009 Report Posted July 26, 2009 correct adam through usk and come between heads of the valley road and pontypool how many times the pontypool boys said there come from the north tells u that
