Geraint Parry Posted September 6, 2009 Report Posted September 6, 2009 it hammering down here now! not much chance of them coming here now :-/
Guest waynemorris Posted September 6, 2009 Report Posted September 6, 2009 I think the rain has held off long enough to give the North Wales fanciers all the top places in the National lol
Tenny Posted September 6, 2009 Report Posted September 6, 2009 Gez, if the best you heard of is doing 1340 and in at 3.32 then am I misinformed that P Bates are clocking 3.07?
Geraint Parry Posted September 6, 2009 Report Posted September 6, 2009 no the time is for a different fancier, Phil might be in at that time, but i think he flys about 208 / 209miles??? i havent been down to the clock centre but will get a phone call soon, will post up once i hear.
chichichi Posted September 6, 2009 Report Posted September 6, 2009 very tough race for the west ,, we have had 6 from 14.. birds coming from the brecon beacons,, must have gone too far north.. birds passing in singles all afternoon.. best birds in west are 15.03 port talbot.. 15.12 in swansea.. best of luck to all ,, fingers crossed for more to return.. I expect the north will take top 30 or 40 today,, welldone to you boys,, My thoguhts on the race are that is should have been yesterday,, they held until 10.30 today so must have been full cloud cover there and this must have been very close to a cut off time for a hold over.. ant
Geraint Parry Posted September 6, 2009 Report Posted September 6, 2009 what sort of distances do you fly down there Ant?
chichichi Posted September 6, 2009 Report Posted September 6, 2009 port talbot will be 189 miles at 15.03.. bird in swansea at 15.12 will be 197 miles.. don't expect these to touch the north,, I expect the boys down here will be doing around 12.50ypm.. very rarely the birds come from the beacons,, but this south wind has been quite strong today.. welldone to all ant
Geraint Parry Posted September 6, 2009 Report Posted September 6, 2009 best at Mostyn clock centre - P Bates & Son 15.07hrs doing aprox 1324ypm, awaiting call from other station

Guest waynemorris Posted September 6, 2009 Report Posted September 6, 2009 Are the national using its website or is it there just for show
Guest neil Posted September 6, 2009 Report Posted September 6, 2009 probably the latter, nothing changed since bonn race
chichichi Posted September 6, 2009 Report Posted September 6, 2009 we have had 7 from 14 now.. others are 6 from 12,, 1 from 3,, 8 from 20,, 11 from 15,, 17 from 20.. some have faired better than others,, I think lots have gone north with the wind.. birds were still coming tonight at 7pm.. winner in my club is doing 1215ypm.. best in fed I expect will be 1240ypm.. Birds have seemed well in themselves on return,, just been around the country.. I wonder how they cleared at maidstone.. I expect more will come tomorrow.. best of luck to all ant
chichichi Posted September 6, 2009 Report Posted September 6, 2009 should be interesting to see if they change the programme now.. you never know.. folkstone and lillers to come,, lots will not send as they have had a torrid time this year.. the winter will be a very interesting time also,, is it right belgium are stopping all mid week liberations for us ? ant
Guest strapper Posted September 6, 2009 Report Posted September 6, 2009 you didnt stand a chance today ant m8...south in the wind rules you guys out. north evertime m8. if belgium has cancelled.. maybe you might be following our route
Guest Posted September 6, 2009 Report Posted September 6, 2009 plenty of birds missing -only 5 out of 13 for me,some good flyers missing good birds, lets hope for a few back tommorow,as Ant said they were coming back from the north neilMassive amount of birds missing down in S.Wales, I've got 9 out of 12 back but some of the big teams have lost up to 60 birds. Rumours are they went up North Wales before coming home or not leaving the race point as they should. Strange really because some just in the next valley had quickish returns, that's racing I suppose. :-/
Tenny Posted September 6, 2009 Report Posted September 6, 2009 WHATS ALL THE FUSS ABOUT , IVE HAD ALL MINE! 2 FROM 2 LOL. SOME BIG NAMES NOT CLOCKING TIL AFTER 4PM. AND SOME MASSIVE LOSSES REPORTED. NOT MENTIONING ANY NAMES BUT I KNOW OF LOADS WHO ARE 3/4 OF THE BIRDS MISSING AND THESE ARE FLYERS WHO BEEN HAVING FULL RETURNS AND WINNING IN RECENT WEEKS? SHOCKING RACE, HOWEVER THIS IS NO BLAME OF THE RACE ORGANIZERS. WE ALL KNEW IT WOULD BE A DIFFICULT RACE WITH THE WIND BUT NOBODY COULD HAVE PREDICTED ALL THE BIRDS WOULD GO UP NORTH IN DROVES!
Guest waynemorris Posted September 6, 2009 Report Posted September 6, 2009 Anybody know anything about the result
Guest Rhondda RedFox Posted September 7, 2009 Report Posted September 7, 2009 Can't see much being in b4 P. Bates myself and the best times I have heard of in south/mid Wales are the birds in Maerdy @ 14.36 one for myself and 4 for Davies & Evans.. There is also a club bird in Maerdy @ 14.36 . Anyone know of any better?
