Guest Posted November 16, 2005 Report Posted November 16, 2005 What do you give water for pigeons's returns from the race?
Guest Posted November 16, 2005 Report Posted November 16, 2005 Not even Garlic in Honey and Cider Vinegar? Shadow
Guest slugmonkey Posted November 16, 2005 Report Posted November 16, 2005 I give plain water on race day I think they taste additives and therefore limit intake I think this lets them drink all they want and rehydrate faster some will say that the electrolytes are needed but I think its more important to get the water in them I give electrolytes the day after a race if you watch usally a bird that has been raced will have runny droppings after the race wich results in dehydration and electrolyte depletion I try to address the dehydration first
CREBAG Posted November 16, 2005 Report Posted November 16, 2005 spot on in my opinion slugmonkey, fresh water and a good feed, unless its a very hot day and then i think electrolites/re-hydration salts are a good idea,
Silverdale Lofts Posted November 16, 2005 Report Posted November 16, 2005 Speight mine get fresh clean water which is changed at 5pm to pigeon tea saturday and sunday
Guest speckled Posted November 16, 2005 Report Posted November 16, 2005 Mine have Rehydration salts after racing. & sunday thay have herb tea, just to give that little gentle purge.Speckled
jimmy white Posted November 17, 2005 Report Posted November 17, 2005 I USED TO GIVE ELECTROLYTES [sAME AS REHYDRATION SALTS] AND ON THE SUNDAY GAVE TEA WITH HONEY OR SUGAR IN IT ,THEY SEEMED TO LIKE IT BETTER LIKE THAT,TOOK THE BITTERNESS OUT OF IT
Guest speckled Posted November 17, 2005 Report Posted November 17, 2005 No bitterness in camomile tea, calming,Why the sugar,& honey surley the rehydration salts, are enough, :-/ whay not throw a mars bar in as well . ;D ;D Speckled
jimmy white Posted November 17, 2005 Report Posted November 17, 2005 it was columbine tea ,which is a bit bitter, taste it , then youll need the mars bar yourself ;D ;D ;D columbine tea is a mixture of herbs, but does contain camomile. the sugar or honey takes the bitterness out ,and does the birds no harm,,,,where is the mars bar, ive never seen that pub ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
Guest speckled Posted November 17, 2005 Report Posted November 17, 2005 ;D ;D ;D.If columbine tea is bitter, why give it,.bit like given you,tea without sugar, bitter taste, dont need to cover up with camomile, sweet it it self.no need for honey & sugar.try it tastes better than the other experiments you have tryed ;D ;D & cheeper, ;D ;D ya cant also use the tea bags for .conjunctivitis. :-/( hope i spelt it right,)so jimmy ;D please feel free to try this natural remady.cheers speckled ;D ;D ;D
jimmy white Posted November 17, 2005 Report Posted November 17, 2005 ;D ;D ;D send me a tea bag up, itll be the only drink youve bought me ;D ;D ;D
