westburylofts
Our best birds are the one's that win, what differance it makes if they are quite or aggresive that part of it is down to personal choice, we like the one's with a little bit of fight in them but it will not tell you that they are any good RAY
Guest Silverwings
interesting comments Ray and speedbird, over the years i have found that the ones that dont fear you ,and defend their box strongly seem to handle the stresses of widowhood better , also found that there allways the ones with slower breathing rythm down to about 25-30 per minute and slow very quickley in the hand, as opposed to nervous pigeons, be interested to see if other strains differ ? Guest
I used to have a cock bird that was very aggresive, and I think he used to wear himself out in the basket, he used to sit in the corner and no bird in the basket would go near him. He won and had quite a few prizes, but I often wondered if he would have been better if he was in a basket on his own to quieten him down. I wish he was still in my loft now. jimmy white
i have noticed with differant breeding they have differant temprements, but would prefer a tame quiet bird for the longer races
