westy Posted April 9, 2006 Author Report Posted April 9, 2006 yes sue do as jimmy says he is the one with all the trophies ;D ;D ;D.
jimmy white Posted April 9, 2006 Report Posted April 9, 2006 in my opinion westy ,i would use your stall traps, you can get the ring off the bird without frightening it,[i you frighten it, it wont come in the following week, they never forget] the open door is an exellent fast way of trapping, but for a beginner i would say the traps, as with the open door ,if its not done perfectly, and a bird flys back out, youll have trouble, you could allways practise both ways whilst training.
bewted Posted April 9, 2006 Report Posted April 9, 2006 and the way westy is going,he will have loads of trophies too,,,,,go get em westy!!!!
jimmy white Posted April 9, 2006 Report Posted April 9, 2006 ;D ;D ;D ;D the trophies dont pay the rent westy ;D ;D ;D ;D youll have the same one day, mark my words
Peckedhen Posted April 9, 2006 Report Posted April 9, 2006 Thanks Jimmy. I'll just have to wait till they are ready to fly themselves -Then when they do fly I won't know where they are, then I'll have something to really worry about! ;D
bewted Posted April 9, 2006 Report Posted April 9, 2006 well,if they cant find there way back, you must have mistakenly crossed the logans with fantals,,,hahac (joke)honestly!!!!
Peckedhen Posted April 9, 2006 Report Posted April 9, 2006 LOL. I have to say the fantails are a darned site easier.....feed them once a day and that's it - they pretty much look after themselves, they didn't need teaching where they live and the youngsters haven't got lost yet - they just never go out of site of the loft!! ;D ;D
bewted Posted April 9, 2006 Report Posted April 9, 2006 sounds like racers picked up fantail habit, not leaving loft much, never cross the street,,,,,hhhhhhmight get lost mr logan racer,,,haha
AlanWilkins Posted April 9, 2006 Report Posted April 9, 2006 foget the corn can have 1 call that means in if the miss the boat thay have to use the trap they will soon learn hunger is the last result wanting to be in there home the thing
snowy Posted April 9, 2006 Report Posted April 9, 2006 they are trapping ok for now not brilliant, but i have noticed with the open door is that they do fly straight in from the sky into the loft floor, & this could be of value for racing, as they land on loft roof b4 going through the trap.
AlanWilkins Posted April 9, 2006 Report Posted April 9, 2006 well when they trp go in n play with um so there ise to ya
westy Posted April 10, 2006 Author Report Posted April 10, 2006 in my opinion westy ,i would use your stall traps, you can get the ring off the bird without frightening it,[i you frighten it, it wont come in the following week, they never forget] the open door is an exellent fast way of trapping, but for a beginner i would say the traps, as with the open door ,if its not done perfectly, and a bird flys back out, youll have trouble, you could allways practise both ways whilst training. okay i will bear that in mind jimmy well at the moment all ybs apart from 1 are using the trap. so i will get them trained to it so when i am school my dad can take them training and let them go and then they can go through the trap that is the only thing that is going to stop me at the moment.
westy Posted April 10, 2006 Author Report Posted April 10, 2006 and the way westy is going,he will have loads of trophies too,,,,,go get em westy!!!! i hope so ted. :)
