symbro Posted April 1, 2006 Report Posted April 1, 2006 anyone have any information on this band? i remember reading somewhere about it and cant seem to find anything anymore.
Guest Posted April 2, 2006 Report Posted April 2, 2006 Symbro There has been a discussion regarding this on another forum and nearly started a new Civil War Between California and New York. These bannds are not available yet in the USA as the cost may put people off buying the, therefore no one is bringing the subject up with The AU for approval.. Personally I would never use them as it a practise with som flyers to take the electronic band off stray birds who enter their lofts, I don't want to have a bird rendered useless for racing because of this practise. It was also reported that animal rights activists are cutting the bands off our pigeons to stop us racing them again'
MsPigeon Posted April 2, 2006 Report Posted April 2, 2006 I kinda like the idea of a single band, the only thing I had not thought about until it was brought up on the other forum, is that they would be dated and it is expensive to buy dated ets bands and not use them all and not be able to use them the next year. I think the only way would have both available so if you needed to ets band them later you still could.
symbro Posted April 2, 2006 Author Report Posted April 2, 2006 well i guess they need to find out how to make them cheaper... :*)
MsPigeon Posted April 3, 2006 Report Posted April 3, 2006 That would be NICE symbro. But I decided it was not so bad (expensive) this year. When you first switch to ETS every bird needs a band and it seems like it is going to be a BIG expense every year. But after going through two YB season and one OB season and now going into the second OB race season I realize that it's not so bad. Just got the YB's to put chip bands on and an odd late hatch or two. Carol
noyonnorm Posted April 10, 2006 Report Posted April 10, 2006 The Life rings with a chip installed are made by Deil Electronics in Holland and i believe that they are the only company that are making them. They have a worldwide patent on them. As with the normal chip rings they do not get cheaper with larger quantities being sold so i doubt if these will also. Deil Electronics are also the manufacturers of the "Mega System" range of Electronic Clocking systems.
