Morning all,

Do you folks handle you're birds differently the week leading up to a hundred mile race as apposed to a 300? I would guess the pre race feeding would be a bit different but what about loft flying and training?

Thanks

Its still a sprint race really, so same feed for mine unless a head wind is predicted, then they will get a few peanuts and hemp starting from tuesday. And the day of basketing they would get as food as they want, due to being in the basket a day extra.

I feed them barley until thursday, give them as much mix as they want, then on friday I give the 1/2 ration.

I remember reading somewhere that loft flying/training should be restricted in the last few days before basketing for a sprint race. Anyone here keep'um locked up the last few days before a sprint???
