SNOWY DONT GET TO DOWNE AS YOU HAVE GOT A LIFE TIME TO GET TO  THE TOP WHY WOULD YOU ONLY SEND 2 BIRDS IF YOU ARE TRANNING THEM ALL AS YOU COULD BE LEAVING THE WINNER IN THE LOFT

its just that we havent trained as far as others, as my job takes too much time & didnt think they were ready, so sent 2 out of 13. (didnt want to put all my eggs (pigeons) in one basket) but trained ferther today & organised someone to train mine for us.

so theres always next week.

thanks anyway

mate i'd send all your young birds to the first two races especially if you have not had the mfar out on training .if you leave it to late the big jump may just be to steep for them..good luck

i wouldnt send all my ybs to first race. last year i sent my strongest ever team of ybs all in at 1st race 37 of them theyd had 2 months of hard training and i only ever got 18 back. this year i missed the first race hoping to get 10 in to second and then send them all in to the third which is 118 miles.

i do the aame as above i left 15 at home mainly the ones that are bit wild & fly till the cows come home & new if they came from the 1st race probably would fly round putting the others on edge

Good Job!! Snowy and Westy!!! I remember my first race, I waited and waited till they called to tell me it was time for knock off and I still had not seen a feather. I only had 10 birds and only got part of them back. By the end of the season I had only one bird left. So your first race and your plan for the season is a GOOD one!!!

We never ever enter the first 2 YB races.  We train to Bromsgrove too which is about 29 miles & then they go to Wincanton - 118.  If they can't handle that - both in returning fast & being competitive then they aint no use to us.

HAD WHAT I HAVE LEFT 12 YBS ALONG TO BURNTISLAND AND GAVE THE SINGLE TOSSING, I THINK THIS IS WHAT A LOT OF BIRDS NEED, AS GETTING TRAINED IN LARGE GROUPS THEY ARE ONLY FOLLOWING THE BATCH, THEN WHEN IN A RACE AND ON THEIR OWN THEY GO DOWN
