Ive heard similar stories, but due to suspensions and appeals etc it could take 2 months to get the results.

I heard about 30 in all, all from one clocking station.

The next futurity race may only have one clocking/ringing station, they had 8 this year, bedlam springs to mind.

4000 rings sold this year, so if only 1/2 made it to the race, it would be an extremely busy day to get them all ringed and clocked? if at all possible in one location.

I really hpe this is a steep learning curve for the NEHU. I know its their first time at running something like this, but I feel we have to question the organisation of the event; you can expect teething troubles, but not able to get a result out??!

This letter gives notice that an Emergency General Council Meeting will be held as shown above.

The meeting has been called for the sole purpose of discussing and deciding appeals arising from the NEHU Futurity Sub-Committee's decision that certain birds could not be included in the result of the Futurity Race, flown on 28th August 2006.

The Sub-Committee anticipated that there would be appeals and decided also that no provisional result could be published until the appeals were heard.

Appeals will be heard in the order listed below:-

I think I would allow the 1 to stand as it appears to be a genuine mistake, that someone has misheard or mis wrote.

How can you stand and check every bird that you put in to see if it is correct.

The rest all appear to be Non-compliances with clock rules and for such an important race I would ensure that if I had clocked on a bird that my clock print was right. ow long have these people been racing?

Therefore I would say that these should be not allowed.

I have nothing to do with any of the members names as shown, and it is purely my own opinion.

It loks to me as though the problem has been with T3 clocks?

Does anyone agree or disagree?

First bird, the rubber matches up, a pigeon to the competing loft, I think it should be given.

The about the clock rolls not being signed, the member is not allowed to handle his clock while its being opened and not allowed to have contact with the rubbers, etc.. I think this is completely out of the members hands, and should be given.

I cant believe all of these mistakes have been made, I mean you wouldnt make these mistakes at your club, never mind a big money race like this!

There should be a checker watching over what is written in the race register and watching the movement of race rubbers, my club uses a checker, and thats just club racing!

Agree to a point ,the checker should see that the entry is correct.

When i check the paper clip number that is read out for the person who is writing the entry, i cannot always see if he has written the birds ring number correctly.

It is usually fairly hectic, and time is limited.

Again as the rubber matches what was put on the bird then it should be allowed.

If the controllers at the end of the race did not ensure that everything was correct, then they should be the ones repremanded / suspended.

Ok so allow the results to stand and as a lesson learnt, provide better communications / checks, more space usually some small dark pub? and have the dam thing organised better to ensure it does not happen again.
