Guest slugmonkey Posted October 19, 2006 Report Posted October 19, 2006 Has anyone seen the results of the first World Ace Challenge 150 mile race I am very happy we had 5 birds from our club in the top 100 it started with 1200 birds 714 were shipped yesterday with only 248 making it home on the day at this time I am not sure of which bloodline of the 3 birds of mine that came in ( 19th, 37th, 195th )is responsible only that they are down from the National Ace Ferrari and the National Ace Pinnacle this bird Pinnacle is a Beaverdam Janssen the one I mentioned in the Beaverdam post elsewhere in this forum
Guest Posted October 19, 2006 Report Posted October 19, 2006 Nice one Rocky, good luck for the races to come. I din't send to this race, but my friend in Canada did and he's very upset at way things have gone. he says getting information out of the loft managers has been like pulling hens teeth, he couldn't even get a definite answer as to how many birds he had left and the information put out on the web page just didn't tie up. I see he didn't have any birds on the sheet from the 150.
Guest slugmonkey Posted October 20, 2006 Report Posted October 20, 2006 I have heard MANY rumors about how this race is going to be run and was very concerned about how my money was going to be spent ? we sent a couple of guys down there ( to the race loft - 3 hour drive and all our birds were there and VERY healthy, well trained and fed ) I have recieved many E-mails about how that the race was going to be fixed and some birds from China were going to dominate all the money positions !!! BULLSHIT .... I am sorry but if you saw the conditions there you would question who was sending these LIES, the loft they built is SPECTACULAR it is built above ground extremely well ventilated, one tree within 200 yards and the only wires are WELL behind the loft I dont belive a hawk could get a bird there unless he was trained by the airfoce ( your pick, ours or theirs ) I thought some of the things I had heard about this race were a little fishy but after asking around I have come to belive that someone is setting out to destroy the credibility of this race before it begins ... I am not lending my name to this race or giving credentials to anyone attached to it BUT lets look at some of the names that are entered there I am not going to do anyone justice here but here are a few key names the Herbots are involved as a sponsor Mike ganus 10+ birds ( Ganus Family lofts ) Dave clausing 10+ birds Barry Yu 10+ birds Quest Syndicate 10+ birds Rick Mardis ( Continental Breeding Station ) Crazy Al Tony Mellucci C&G Koopman Ed Minneville and the list goes on.... I can' belive that theses guys are either going to donate 10,000 dollars and lend their name to a race that they thought was fixed or that they would not be able to win because their birds would be handled diffrently ? I dont mind a guy setting up a race to make money off of it, I do mind a guy changing the rules to alter the outcome of the race to turn a profit and help his friends sell birds. these guys have too much money invested in this to be trying to screw this many people who are foundations of our sport and if they are they should be given an award for their bravado and stupidity.
Guest slugmonkey Posted October 20, 2006 Report Posted October 20, 2006 P.S. I dont know this for a fact but I belive this race is scheduled like a Tiawan series they have 6 races scheduled in about 8 weeks this dosent leave a lot of time for picking and choosing the days to ship when a race promoter can decide when to ship for maximum returns and big drops so it looks good on paper, they scheduled the races and shipped the birds, it was a cross wind and not a great day but very raceable the only thing I wish they had done diffrent was to have set time limits for each distance
