on the odd occasion ive bred pigeons with eleven flights , some of these had eleven flights on one wing only,, this did not seem to effect their racing , as some were quite good ones [not all]  but had one particularly good one, does anyone know about this peculuarity, it must be genetic somehow as these were of the same family, but allways wondered about this  :) :) any veiws

hi mike, have you found any other eleven flighted birds bred ?, related to "assassin"

extra flights not done him any harm anyway ;D ;D

,,,i had one with eleven flights just in the one wing , would have thought it would have knocked it off balance , but this particular bird did really well, won a few bob also ;D

Hi Guys,

In the sixties, I introduced a grizzle cock into my distance family and within a few years, I had numerous 21 & 22 primary flighted pigeons. One bird in particular was an excellent racer carying 11 flights on one wing. I sold him when he was past racing, and he bred many winners for the fortunate buyers. (now flying a good bird into Southport). I have also had pigeons over the years with 13 tail flights, but never 14. Personally I dont think EXTRA FLIGHTS are adventageous, but that is only my opinion. Vic. ;)

i asked this question in the beginning as it was sir colin 2cnd nat , that bred the very odd bird with eleven flights , allways just on one wing, in all the years he bred he threw about 6 of these type birds one of them scoring also in national, yet never had any[ that i know of] further down the line
