ive done it years ago with widowhood hens,i was beating cocks by doing this, its not new.dave allen wrote a book "winning with hens " they said it was a new system,a friend of mine was doing it ten years before he even wrote the book winning 10x1sts a year with hens ,topping the fed every week sometimes first 4 and winning every open race there was, going back to the question he flagged them 1hr morning 1 hr night but darkened them out when in the loft,i tried this system with 1 hen on widowhood and she went on to win 4x1sts for me beating my own widow cock, one race being my only entry 157 mls.i intend going back to this system in 2008 when i get finally set up 100% in the garden.

it didnt matter, after i got them in give them a little to eat left them for half hour then darkened them out until it was time to let them out in the afternoon, but open the shutters 15 mins before letting them out,it does keep them from dropping there flights too early and there condition is excellent.also they wont pair up aswell if you keep them flying morning and evening.ive tried darkening cock out aswell but it hasnt made any difference in peformances.
