tedweb Posted February 5, 2007 Report Posted February 5, 2007 hello all being a novice at this game I would like to know how most breeders get rid of their unwanted stock... how do you actually kill the bird thanks ted
piller Posted February 5, 2007 Report Posted February 5, 2007 I too am interested in this aspect of the sport. I've read a lot about strict selection and culling being required to improve one's loft, but it generally stops there.
Guest Posted February 6, 2007 Report Posted February 6, 2007 I think you will find that culling is only necessary in extreme circumstances, e.g when a bird has been so badly injured, or become so ill that it is the correct and humane thing to do. It is quite an emotive subject and not really suitable for open discussion as the thread can get hijacked by animal rights activists looking for soft targets. You will be aware there wasn't many of them on TV over the weekend when 160,000 turkeys were being culled.
