Scout, sorted mine out with Ivo Mec .........but that's the local one in the old quarry a mile away, the trouble is they are all over. Luckily I'm at the gateway to exmoor & dartmoor so don't get it half as bad as the boys at South Molton and Barnstaple and the ones down in Cornwall, well I take my hat off to them for keeping going

Marcel Albrecht who in 2005, was the all around champion of Belgium. This year he won it again with an even stronger race record. Think of it, he’s almost 80 years old and races from a tiny old loft with 18 race birds, including yearlings.

So even if he lost half his old birds every year he would only need 9 young birds to top up his race team.

Jimmy if someone has to breed 100 young birds a year to finish a young bird season I don't think he is breeding the kind of bird that will fly 600 miles when older. To tell a new comer he needs to have 100+ young birds to finish a young bird season is going to put them off right from the start. I have never raced more than 35 young birds and have done very well and they go to 5 250 mile + 3 channel races and at the end I will have 20+ left so why people need to race 100+ I will never know.

i must say i a gree with this entirely, , it may have looked like i was knocking you, i wasnt, [merely a mix up on the last sentance] i dont really think that one man could possibly give justice to over 100 ybs ,in fact not fair on the ybs,my freind raced 18 yb s from the start last year finnished up with 13 and had a fantastic season ,,,,,,racing against the folk with 100 plus ybs , i think that says it all :)
