westy Posted April 13, 2007 Report Posted April 13, 2007 our fed has recently chnaged its transporter and got a newish one they collected our 30 baskets tonigth from our club and we was amazed and disaapointed at how our pigeons were collected they loaded 30 baskets onto a ldv pickup truck and were being taken to the transporter 25 miles away the baskets were loaded over the bed and were tied down with rope and were not covered we was dissapointed but what could we do in the pic this is one simular to what our pigeons were colected in. i am very dissapointed and will send next week if my pigeons are fine but if they are collected the same that week i may not race in the club and fed as the pigeons will get ruined.

Beanz Posted April 13, 2007 Report Posted April 13, 2007 Westy, As long as it is not raining or damp it will not do them any harm, pigeons love fresh air, I used to take an open race to Plymouth which is 226 miles as the bird flies and I did have a cover over the top but nothing covering the sides and people at the lib site were amazed at how much better the birds from this race cleared compared to the transporters.
