although I've kept pigeons for over 20 years I have only ever raced for a couple of seasons.....not having any real guidance other than my own sself taught ways,  I flew natural...which was fine.....had some success...but nothing outstanding...

The other day I was talking to a very succesful local flyer, who raced lesbain hens on the widowhood system......

This was a new one on me................and it was then it dawned on me that other than the basics I knew very little about different racing systems.....Most folks fly natural, widowhood, roundabout to name a few...but I wondered if there were any other weird and wonderfull systems that people use to some sucesss...........it would be really interesting to hear about  these and they work!

part your hens ,or have spare hens and pair them up to you, will beat widowers thatway, ive done it many times and won races, best thing they also land on you when they come back no need to catch them, only thing they take some pairing back up to pigeons year after has they still think your there mate.good init.Les

yes they would race just as well :) the only problem being ,is knowing when and if they were going to lay,,,,,,,if i were to try this [which i have in the past, is paired lesbian hens ,,sitting , only leave 2 eggs and the two hens try to sit at the same time ,sometimes one nudging the other gently off , but it can make them keen  :)[

forgive my ignorance but how would you do this?...presumable spending alot of time with a specific hen,,,,,..or can this be done several a time?

to make hens pair up with ya its not spending alot of time just alittle bit of time, touching her crop and stroking her back as she brushes towards you, noticed the easiest way at first is having hens boxed to get super rank, then start calling like a cock would do and you will notice some hens will even crouch thinking your the cock bird to try and tread her.
